It's true - the President said that the Republican vision of America - less government, more freedoms, lower taxes, more personal responsibility - would cripple America.
So my first question was, "Aren't those the tenets that made America great in the first place?"
Hey, Mr. President, under your policies unemployment has consistently been over 9%. Standard and Poors downgraded our credit. You added more debt than all presidents before you, combined. You have added over 4000 debilitating regulations that are driving businesses out of America and keep us from energy independence. Gas prices are at their highest. You have given away a trillion dollars to cheats and thieves like Solyndra. Yet you say it is the GOP that "would cripple America."
Mr. President, you have already done that.

Hikers, freed from Iran prison, blame America
What do you expect from a couple of sniveling, liberal Berkely twits but for them to hail the likes of Cindy Sheehan and other far-left loons, and blame America for their imprisonment.
In their interview today, they stated flatly that they blame America's war-mongering ways for their imprisonment, while crediting their release to the liberals.
Yep - if America had not mistreated Iran and other Muslim countries, both before and after 9/11, Iran would never have arrested them. According to THEM, that is.
What clowns like those never seem to grasp is that Muslim nations have been attacking us since the '50's, unprovoked. And we put up with it for half a century, and did little until the World Trade Center came down. And they also do not realize that, had they not been Americans, the standard punishment for illegally crossing into Iran is death, or at least torture.
So, if I am not being too bold, might I suggest the real reason they ended up in an Iranian prison was simply because they were stupid enough, ignorant enough and liberal enough to be hiking anywhere near the Iranian border with the geo-political climate such as it is.
Exactly WHAT were they doing there? There are countless thousands of good hiking trails throughout America, and hundreds of thousands throughout the world. If not stupidity fueled by their liberal ignorance, then just what WAS the reason they had to hike THAT trail, close to Iran?
Frankly, I believe those three idiot kids were put up to it by some nutcase, liberal Berkely professor, just to tempt fate and push some buttons. Liberals are good at pushing buttons. Pushing the envelope.
Since they obviously blame America, perhaps America should not have spent so much treasure getting them home. Should have left them there - at least until they get smart enough to realize Iran, not America, is the enemy.

This Morning The History Channel Provided A Good Laugh...
I was scrolling through the channels this morning and I saw two back-to-back shows on the History Channel. Both had the title MEGA DISASTERS. Sounded interesting, so I checked the show info.
The first show was about scientists fearing a mega freeze could make winters unbearable in northern climates. The second show - scientists fearing that global warming would cause sea levels to rise and mega hurricanes.
So let me get this straight - "scientists" fear global cooling may occur. And they fear global warming may happen.
And those "scientists" expect us to take them seriously when they put forth their unproven theories! When did actual science get left behind in the quest for gaining fame and funding for a theory?

Morgan Freeman says Tea Party is racist - but maybe HE is the racist...
Morgan Freeman, in an interview with Piers Morgan said, ""Their stated policy, publicly stated, is to do whatever it takes to see to it that Obama only serves one term," the actor said. "What’s, what does that, what underlines that? 'Screw the country. We’re going to whatever we do to get this black man, we can, we’re going to do whatever we can to get this black man outta here.'"
Declaring once again that "it's a racist thing," Freeman said the group's rise has shown the hate still lingering in America.
I - and most sane and reasonable people - believe it is not the Tea Party that is racist, but rather the people who call it racist.
The Tea Party does oppose Obama, and does want him replaced. But it has nothing to do with his color. His color did not add $5.3 trillion to the debt. His color did not alienate Israel. His color did not waste $800 billion on "stimulus" that stimulated nothing but government growth. His color is not asking for huge tax increases, while opposing spending cuts. His color did not blow half a billion tax dollars on Solyndra. No, it has nothing to do with his color. It has to do with his socialist tendancy, and his complete incompetence.
But people like Freeman simply cannot grasp that. All THEY can see is color. Therefore, if you oppose Obama, it just has to be about color.
Freeman and other left-wing loons should first understand what TEA party stands for - T(axed) E(nough) A(lready). The Tea Party, by its name and nature opposes higher taxes and the growth of government that higher taxes support. Obama is just the opposite. And that is why the Tea Party opposes him.
Color? Frankly, we really don't give a rat's butt about color. But people like Freeman obviously think about little else. That makes Freeman the racist. The Tea Party includes black, yellow, red, brown and white folks, so I find it ludicrous to call them "racist".
Just an idle observation here --- using Freeman's "logic", if he and other people of color opposed George W Bush, and wanted to make him a one-term president, does that not make them racist, and opposed to him because he was white?
When color makes a difference, that is racism. And color makes all the difference to Freeman and others who see color first.

Laugh Of The Day - DNC Chair says market drop hurts GOP...
DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Sergeant-Shultz says the big drop in the stock market these last two days hurts the GOP because they want to privatize Social Security. She says the drop only goes to prove it would hurt people's retirement accounts.
Ahem! Here's a newsflash for the DNC Chair, and all other liberals - I am retirement age. I began working in 1965. And in 1965 the Dow Jones Industrial Average was only 967. Today, even after a dozen huge drops since 1965, the Dow is still above 10,000. That's still a pretty darn good return.
What liberals refuse to acknowledge is the long-term profitability of stocks. More important, most retirement funds probably would not even be in stocks, so much as Treasuries and the like.
Nice try, Debbie.

Another Fine Example Of The Dishonesty Of Huffington Post/AOL...
Posted on AOL?HuffPost today was the following:
Ryan Wants To Increase Taxes On The Middle Class
WASHINGTON -- Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said on Sunday that House Republicans would oppose President Barack Obama's payroll tax cuts for both employers and employees, arguing that the policy had already failed to provide a sufficient boost to the economy. "It hasn't worked," Ryan said, suggesting the current temporary tax cut should be allowed to expire, which will amount to a 50 percent tax hike on workers making less than $106,000 per year
OK, so here is where it is dishonest - it is NOT a "50 percent tax hike". It is only a minute amount - the payroll tax cut instituted under George Bush reduced the PAYROLL tax (which is only 7.6%) by half. When this expires in January, it will mean a 50% increase in the PAYROLL tax only, which amounts to about 3%. Hardly a "50 percent tax hike on workers."
And even then it is not a "tax increase" at all. It is nothing more than a tax cut that is expiring on schedule.
Even more important, Ryan is absolutely correct in opposing that the cut be extended. It has been in effect for three years and has done nothing to improve the economy, and obviously has no effect on increasing jobs. But it does add to the deficit. Ryan figures, correctly, that anything other than national defense that adds to the deficit without improving the economy or increasing jobs is a bad thing.
The Republicans - and more particularly the Tea Party candidates - were elected to do two things: foster an environment that produces jobs, and reduce the deficit.
Whereas the payroll tax cut does nothing for jobs or the economy, and adds to the deficit, Ryan is doing what he was elected to do.
Certainly, many people will pay a few bucks more in taxes. But have you ever heard of a medicine or cure that did not incur some discomfort? Flu shot? Castor oil? Bypass? Nope. Our nation is ill, and requires strong medicine to get us back on our feet. So I say, "Buck up, take our medicine and stop whining about a few bucks. You are still far better off than most of the people on this granite planet."

Obama Wants New Tax Rate Just For The Wealthy - What it will ensure...
WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama is expected to seek a new base tax rate for the wealthy to ensure that millionaires pay a higher tax.
But it's not that simple. In fact, it is diabolical.
Most wealthy people earn their money from capital gains - passive income from investments. By increasing the base tax rate for the wealthy to the same rate as earned income, Obama will effectively raise the tax on capital gains. And every economist, regardless of ideology, understands that spells disaster. Because the wealthy will simply not invest as much. They can't - Uncle Sam will have much of the profits.
And we all know what happens when people invest less - companies do not have as much working capital (that comes from the investors). Without capital, they simply cannot expand. They cannot develop new products. And they cannot hire.
One thing is now certain - Obama is not simply stupid when it comes to the economy. It is now quite clear that it has always been his intention to do his best to destroy free markets and capitalism. That is the only way to usher in socialism - and despite what his blind followers think, every economic move he has made since inauguration has been geared toward socialism. And this latest move proves it.
Of course, they call it "progressive". Which is just Political Speak for socialist.

What Does A.C.L.U. Really Stand For...
ACLU - Anti Christian Liberties Union
ACLU - Atheist Curmudgeons of the Left Unhinged
But one thing it does NOT stand for is "American Civil Liberties Union", as they have no interest whatever in the civil liberties of most normal, religious, honest Americans.

Obama Wants To Borrow Another $447 Billion...
Today the administration offers a plan for funding his "Jobs Plan." It involves certain tax loopholes and subsidies being eliminated - in other words, a tax hike for many. But here is the important part they are kinda down playing - the cuts (or "savings" as they call them) will not take effect until 2013 (so the next administration can take the heat), and it will take 10 years for it to equal the funds needed. And there is no guarantee a new Congress will continue those cuts. Meanwhile, Obama is calling to spend the $447 billion NOW!
In short, we would be getting on our knees before China, hat in hand, asking for yet another loan...
Sorry to tell ya this, Mr. President, but I believe the folks told you in November what they think about your constant borrowing and spending. They said "ENOUGH!"

Only One Thing Needed To Jumpstart The Economy...
The clowns in Washington - all parties - just do not seem to understand what the problem is. They do not comprehend why businesses are not hiring, and not investing in new equipment. And I find that very strange, because the answer is incredibly simple.
The short take - businesses need certainty and stability. Every business needs to run on a 5 year minimum business plan. If they can be reasonably certain that taxes, regulations and other factors will remain reasonably constant for 5 years, they can plan. And then they feel justified in growing and hiring.
But if a business does not have any idea what their tax rate will be in 6 months, or how often it will change in 5 years, they cannot write a viable plan. Same with regulations.
All the talk about lowering taxes, or changing the cap gains rate, or adding/subtracting regulations means very little, really. What counts is whether or not those things will have a least a 5 year lifespan.
So, here is the solution: Decide what the corporate tax rate will be and guarantee it will not go up (but could go down) for at least 5 years. Decide what the cap gains rate will be, and guarantee it will not go up for a least 5 years. And whatever regulations you do or do not have, guarantee there will be no more costly regulations added for at least 5 years, but that some may be eliminated.
Give businesses 5 years of relative certainty and they can move forward to create jobs. And if we also happen to reduce their costs (taxes, regulations etc.), all the better - it will give them a bigger push. Failure to provide a sense of certainty will result in continued economic failure. As a business person myself, I cannot risk spending the money to hire and train a new employee, only to have to lay him off a year down the road because my taxes go up, or costly new regulations decrease profits. If I cannot expect to keep an employee for a few years, I simply cannot afford to hire them.

Maybe A Coincidence. Maybe Not. Huge Power Outage As Solar Flare "Glances" Earth
This may well be nothing more than coincidence, but just yesterday the National Weather Service announced a huge solar flare would deal a glancing blow to Earth. And today, tens of thousands of people were without power after a major outage knocked out electricity from Southern California to the Arizona border on Thursday afternoon.
Outages were reported across San Diego County and all the way to Yuma, Ariz. Residents in San Clemente in Orange County, north of San Diego, also said their lights were out.
So far, the power officials have no clue what caused this huge power failure. We'll see...

Myopic Liberals - Can Only See ONE Side...
In his speech this evening, Obama said, "We need a tax code where everyone gets a fair shake, and everybody pays their fair share. And I believe the vast majority of wealthy Americans and CEOs are willing to do just that, if it helps the economy grow and gets our fiscal house in order." In other words, his idea of "everyone gets a fair shake and everybody pays a fair share" does not actually mean EVERYBODY. It simply means add more tax burden on the rich.
I like the idea of everybody paying a fair share, but MY idea of "everybody" is EVERYBODY. Currently, 47% of all workers pay ZERO tax, and many of them even get back more than they paid in.
Hey, Mr. Obama - look up the definition of "everybody" - and also "fair". Just because a person does not make $50K a year does not mean they should get away without paying ANY share of the burden. Even the poor, if they earn a living, should pay something. They benefit from the roads, schools and national defense. They should be vested in it. Even the poor, if they have a job, can afford $5-$10 a week. How do I know this? Because those same "poor" people smoke $5 a pack cigarettes, drink beer and wine, and have cellphones and computers.
Yes, EVERY worker can and should pay something. The word "everybody" means just that, Mr President.

Solar Flares - Dodging The Bullet - This Time...
WASHINGTON -- The National Weather Service says a new, large solar flare that erupted on the sun on Tuesday should provide only a glancing blow on Earth on Friday and is unlikely to cause any problems and there should be no radio, satellite or electrical grid disruptions.
But as I have posted several times in the last 3 years, during the height of this new, active solar cycle (from 2011-2013) there is likely to be many more large flares - much larger than this one - and all it takes is for one to place a direct blow. This one will "glance" us. The next may not.
Once again I implore my readers to take whatever level of preparations they can afford to do. If the grid comes down, for example, experts say it could be down for months, or even years as a direct hit could literally fry transformers. Remember - if power is down nationwide, there will be no factories running to produce the replacement equipment needed. It would be like trying to run the Boston Marathon with two broken ankles.
Think about it.

Sense Of Entitlement Gone Wild...
Last month, 22 KraftMaid employees in Youngstown, Ohio who regularly pooled their money to buy lottery tickets won the Mega Millions draw, TV station WEWS reported. But one man, Edward Hairston, missed out on the big prize because he'd been on sick leave for three months and hadn't contributed his $5 to the pot in June, July and August, according to WCKN. Now Hairston is suing his newly rich colleagues for his share of the winnings.
This clown does not HAVE a share of the winnings, nor is he entiitled to any. He did not contribute his share for THREE MONTHS, and in particular did not contribute in any way to the winning ticket.
There is no reason why this idiot could not have got the $5/month fee to his "partners" to cover the period he was out. The fact is, he made NO ATTEMPT to continue being a part of the lottery partnership, and therefore was no longer party to it.
If you stop paying your mortgage for three months, you lose your home. Stop paying the electric bill and you will be using candles. Point is, if you want to dance to the tune, you have to pay the piper.
Any judge who even agrees to hear this frivolous suit should be tossed out to the curb.

Illegal Aliens Pocket $4.2 Billion Of Taxpayer Money...
Illegal aliens (undocumented workers, as liberals call them) collected $4.2 billion in a certain tax credit last year, according to a new audit.
The report from the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration looked only at a tax benefit known as the Additional Child Tax Credit, a refundable credit meant for working families. The audit found that as a result of vague U.S. law -- as well as an expansion of the tax credit in stimulus legislation and other measures -- the number of illegal workers collecting the money has skyrocketed.
By federal law, these people are not even supposed to be working. Therefore, they should not be filing and collecting money from U.S. taxpayers.
Liberals like to tell us that the illegals also pay taxes - but they do not. 49% of ALL workers pay ZERO tax. Illegals, usually earning less than American workers, certainly fall into that category. If, in fact they are paying taxes, then it would appear they are doing jobs that Americans WOULD do. Ergo, they would be taking jobs away from Americans.
So, which is it, liberals? Are they taking jobs away from Americans, or are they getting a free ride and free tax money?
In either case, it is very, very wrong and we need to put a stop to it.

Solar Company SOLYNDRA Bankrupt After Obama Gives Them A Half Billion In Taxpayer Money
Solyndra, a solar panel company in Fremont, CA has filed bankruptcy. It is the third solar company to go bust in the last 30 days. But what makes this one unique is that President Obama's administration pumped $535,000,000 taxpayer bucks into the company.
Kinda makes ya woner - even if they sold ZERO panels, how could a half billion bucks disappear in just one year?
Simple answer - more "redistribution of wealth" slight of hand.
